Evan Fowler - Lead Pastor
Evan was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest before moving to Rapid City in 2020 to pastor Common Ground. He is a Bible nerd who is passionate about discipleship, spiritual practices, and the great outdoors! Evan is married to Lena, the father of Lidiya and frisbee thrower for Willow. He is currently trying to sustain a long-distance relationship with the Pacific Ocean.
Evan is a teacher and shepherd who earned a B.S. in Biblical Studies from Crown College at the Reach Training Institute in Salem, Oregon, an M.Div. from Crown College and he is ordained with the Christian & Missionary Alliance. He is also a volunteer chaplain with the Pennington County Sheriff's Office.
Emily Gullickson - Worship Leader
Emily is the worship leader here at Common Ground!
She has been leading worship since the age of 13 when she was involved in youth group and her family’s church plant.
Emily has been at Common Ground since 2019 and on staff since 2022. She has a passion for spiritual growth and community among believers of Christ.
When Emily is not practicing music and leading in worship she is hanging out with friends, drinking coffee, and working from home. She recently graduated from the School of Mines with a bachelor's in chemical engineering.
Nick Rombough - Discipleship Director
Nick is our director of discipleship here at Common Ground. He is excited to work with people of every generation, especially the younger bunch. Being on staff with two millennials has made him sympathetic to J.R.R. Tolkien's character, Gandalf, and his dealings with hobbits, but with Evan and Matt, who is Pippin and who is Merry can change from day to day. The best part is how they can always take you by surprise.
Nick has been a servant of Jesus in the Black Hills area for nearly four decades. Currently, when not directly serving Common Ground, he is the campus chaplain and Bible instructor at Rapid City Christian School. He prefers to spend as much time as he can with Lorri and the family which includes two sons, Robb (and his wife Taylor) and Cameron, one daughter, Alli (and her husband Eric) and most especially his granddaughter, Ebony. Along with them are many "adopted" kids who are always welcome to invade his home.
If seeking a Wild Nick in his habitat, you would do well to explore coffee shops, book stores, pubs, bike paths, any body of water with kayaks upon it, or within a tent or hammock in the more remote areas of the Black Hills. Approach with caution - he's kind of jumpy.
Pastor Evan set a limit of 500 words for each staff bio, which made Nick say, "Challenge accepted!" and aim for 499. However, Nick has chosen to cap it off at 267 words because too much math was involved and he needs that supply of words to go long on sermons.
Lena Fowler - Kids Church Director
Yelena is a Jesus-loving, Spirit-empowered, tri-lingual woman of mercy and integrity. Lena is a mother and an elementary teacher with RCAS who shapes young minds for a living! She brings those skills & talents to Common Ground Kids Church! Lena is the best, plain and simple.
Lindsey Mulcahey - Kids Church Director
Hello! My name is Lindsey Mulcahey and I have been a member at Common Ground CMA since the fall of 2020.
Lindsey loves playing with kids! She enjoys making memories and teaching kids important lessons about God, church, and community. Lindsey works at a pregnancy resource center in town and enjoys spending time outside hiking, swimming, and playing sports. She loves reading good books and going on adventures with friends and family.
